Over the past twenty five years we have supplied systems for a very wide range of clients, from government departments and the MOD through to private individuals and small companies.

Solar Energy Alliance was formed in 1985 by managing director Chris Goodings. At the time Chris was spending quite a bit of time on-board his boat and decided to rig up a wind generator and some solar PV panels to provide power. Other people moored nearby were fascinated and stated asking Chris where they could get similar devices.

Chris started sourcing and fitting renewable energy solutions to other people's boats; word soon got around, and after a while enquiries were coming in from across the country. Not wanting to travel to the outer reaches of the UK to install systems Chris teamed up with several other fledgling renewable energy companies and the Solar Energy Alliance was born!

All the early work was on designing and installing stand alone independent power systems - however soon things were moving from marine projects onto dry land, developing small self sufficient systems mostly for rural properties that had no electric connection. We also did a lot of work on specific remote applications such as radio and television boosters, electric fences, water pumping and the like.

Things developed as the technologies became more effective and affordable, and we now have three regional offices and a total of 28 installers all over the UK.

In 2004 we took the step of focusing completely on the harvesting, storage and conversion of renewable electricity. We no longer install solar thermal (hot water) nor any other renewable technology not related to electricity, although we can point you in the right direction to some reliable organisations that do. This decision was not taken lightly, but in the face of many organisations deciding to be a "one stop shop" for renewables we focus specifically on electricity, and even then we have to invest quite a bit of time in research and development to keep up with the latest innovations and technologies.

If you are looking for an organisation to install wind turbines or Solar PV you will not find a more experienced company than Solar Energy Alliance. We have installed over 100 wind turbines and a huge number of Solar PV arrays in all kinds of situations and locations.

Solar Energy Alliance is a best advice organisation, if your location is not suitable we will quickly highlight this. We are not a sales operation; we are consultants, installers and engineers; we advise and leave you to decide. This is also why we charge for consultancy and preparatory work - you get what you pay for - and paying us a very modest fee to assess and survey your site properly is possibly one of the best investments you will make, whether you proceed to installing a system or not.

We are always available by phone or email for free impartial advice, so if you are thinking of installing a wind turbine, hydro turbine or solar PV system please contact us for free and impartial advice.
